Ron's contribution to Rose's funeral

Created by Gil 3 years ago

So many aspects come to mind when thinking about Rosie, that one has to draw a line,
because it would seem like writing a life story.

One thing I’m sure that everyone who knew Rose would agree, is that whenever you visited her, she would make you most welcome.   The kettle would always be on the boil, so you never had to wait long for your cuppa. I often wondered how many cups of tea she got through in a day, with all her visitors. When it was time to leave, you were already looking forward to the next visit.

My children, and the children of many of Rosie’s friends, grew up to become firm friends of
Rose themselves, visiting her independently. She had such a friendly nature about her and
always saw the best in people.

I could go on for hours reminiscing about Rose. I remember one day when we were recalling
old memories, she said to me, “You know, Ron, I’ve had a wonderful life. I’ve been very
lucky to have so many wonderful friends! I’ve got nothing to complain about, have I?”

Knowing of the many tragedies that she suffered during her life, I thought to myself, what a
remarkable lady you are Rose, you lit up the lives of so many people. On their behalf, I’d like
to say “Thank you, you will be sorely missed”.

God bless, rest peacefully.
Ronnie
